A girls guide to glamping

14/05/12 2:50 PM

As the winter approaches, the only way to spend time in the great outdoors has surely got to be 'glamping'. We're inspired by West Elm's photo shoot which sums up glamourous camping for us.

Not to outdone, Anthropologie has the King of all Tents, a at bargain $8998. How utterly fabulous for a wedding.

These tents from Field Candy are super fun and will definitely have you standing out of a crowd in any national park.

A new US company called Shelter Co has a top idea. They set up camp for you at a location of your choice complete with all the goodies you need. All you do is turn up and start roasting those marshmallows.

On local shores, check out Miss Jones's favourite romantic retreat Paperbark Camp in Jervis Bay.

All I Want for Easter

4/04/12 9:31 AM

All we want for Easter at Miss Jones is one of these Angora Rabbits! Did you know it's one of the oldest types of domestic rabbits and was popular with French royalty?

We don't care so much for the facts, all we know is that one of these fur balls in the office would definitely liven the place up.

Wishing you an Easter full of chocolate and relaxation. Check out our BUMPER Flash Sale Friday this week!

Silverblue

21/03/12 12:05 PM

We love it when our customers send in pictures of their stores. Look at this fabulous merchandising in Silverblue in Manly. They've just done a bit of a relaunch and the store is bursting with goodies from stationary from Telegram, retro Dutch Jansen and Co tea sets, bohemian embroidered Indian textiles and Ponyrider cushions. You'll of course find a great range of Miss Jones clay pottery, bone china and recycled glass too.
Theses photos were taken by the lovely Nicky, another favourite Miss Jones customer.
Their address is 46 Pittwater Rd, Manly. Check them out!

Trade Fair

9/03/12 9:26 AM

Another trade fair has been and gone, but we thought you'd like to see our stand. Our beautiful merchandiser weaved her magic yet again and we were so happy with the result.

First thing we did was hit Sydney Markets in the morning to get fresh flowers to dress our 'room in rooms'.

We had 4 set ups on the stand to showcase our products and to illustrate great window display ideas.
The first room was Miss Jones Zoo.

Then we had Regency, which highlighted our new colours of pottery.

Garden Party was girlie and fun, with A LOT of pink!

Best of British was an eclectic mix of our recycled glass, pottery and bone china.

If we missed you this time, see you in August!

Wedding Photographers

6/02/12 1:50 PM

It's February and we all know it's the month of LURVE! At Miss Jones, we've all got a touch of the romantic about us and love looking through wedding photographer's blogs.

Wedding photography is so different these days. Long gone are the typical shots of the couple walking hand in hand down a beach or posing in a rose garden sitting on a bench. It seems that the juxtaposition of gritty surroundings seems to highlight the beauty of the couple so much more. We also love shots which are quirky and out of the ordinary!

A few of our favourites are Tim Coulson and Jonas Peterson. Both have photographed people we know and the results are stunning.
Jonas took photos of this couple in Sweden and we love the photo of the couple standing in front of industrial machinery! The bubble image is so unique too.
The amazing Tim Coulson took these photos of a local Bondi couple and the results make shivers run up our spine.

Simple yet so exciting and breath taking.

Miss Jones has embraced Sydney this summer and has worn herself out trying to see everything. Her fav's this year were

Beautiful Burnout was an awesome, high energy, raw play about boxing set to the music of Underworld. The fact that the company was from Scotland and had these fantastic accents made it even more gritty.

Celebrity Autobiographies was non stop hysterical laughter the whole way through. Australian comedians read out the best and worst bits of celebrities autobiographies. Tiger Wood's chapter on putting is probably the funniest thing she's heard all year.

Noel Gallagher put on a great show at the Enmore. If you've ever wanted to know what it would be like to be in an all English karaoke session of Oasis, this was the gig.

The Artist at the St George Open Air Cinema was MAGIC. A silent black and white movie with the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House as your backdrop was a hard night to beat.
Sydney - we heart you!
